Project description
In a store, which offers the most exquisite wools and yarns, the photographer shows 11 images of ropes around pollers.
In a southern port these boats and ships (which aren’t shown on the photographs) are sitting tied down, in friction.
ANCHORAGE TO VIEW THE WORLD
Since you can’t see what the ropes tie down, the photographer’s choice of title, opens the possibility that it could also be world views, opinions, or persuasions which are fatally, immovably be anchored.
The strong and rough ship ropes and chains inspired the photographer to exhibit these images in a store which sells the most exquisite and delicate yarns, pointing out the extreme contrast between both materials.
The shown pollers are standpoints par excellence.
The photos originate in 2016.
Single sentence statement
Rigid, tight down opinions and view’s of this world have to make way for a more open philosophy of life if people really want to live with one another in the future.
